How do I know if I’m pregnant?
The signs and symptoms of pregnancy are different for everyone, but the first thing to watch for is a missed period. Other signs can include nausea (especially in the morning), tiredness/fatigue, tender breasts, frequent urination, and changes in appetite. If you suspect you might be pregnant, schedule a free appointment with us – we’ll administer a pregnancy test and talk about some options for your next steps.
I think I might be pregnant. What now?
Whether planned or unplanned, a pregnancy is a lot to take in. The first step is to find someone you trust to support and encourage you through the process. Next, we recommend scheduling an appointment to confirm your pregnancy, assess potential risks, and understand the options available to you based on a number of factors, including how far along you are. Whether you choose to come alone or with your chosen supporter, our caring staff can help guide you through the process and provide you with the information you need.
What are my options if I’m pregnant?
Once you’ve had your pregnancy confirmed at a doctor’s office and received an ultrasound to determine how far along you are, you may have three different options:
  • Parenting: We offer coaching, support groups, and educational and material resources for women preparing for a newborn, as well as various forms of support through the child’s first year of life.
  • Adoption: If you think adoption might be right for you, we can connect you with an agency in your area. Every year, agencies  provide mutually beneficial solutions to both the birth-mother and families looking to welcome a new baby into their home.
  • Abortion: Depending on how far along you are, different types of abortions may be available to you. Since we don’t perform, refer, (or profit from) any abortion procedures, our team is a great source of unbiased information. We can help you understand all of your options as they relate to your unique situation and prepare you with the knowledge you need to make the decision that’s best for you.
What’s the difference between and STD and and STI?
An STI is a Sexually Transmitted Infection, while an STD is a Sexually Transmitted Disease. Medically speaking, a disease has to have symptoms (like itching, rashes, etc.), while an infection may go completely unnoticed, except through testing. Both can be equally dangerous, and equally infectious, so even if you show no symptoms, we recommend being tested yearly, or after a potential exposure to new or multiple partners.
